Anthony Caillet

Euphonium

Anthony Caillet took up the euphonium at a very early age, shortly before the instrument experienced its current boom in France.

A graduate of the Conservatoire Supérieur de Paris, winner of major international competitions and numerous jazz competitions, Anthony knows that "you can do anything with a euphonium"! This certainty opens the door to discovery and a wealth of musical, cultural and human experiences, in every aesthetic, in every form and on every continent.

As a result, he plays with major orchestras and ensembles as well as smaller groups. He has performed the classical repertoire with the Orchestre de Paris, Orchestre National de France, Orchestre National de Lyon and Opéra de Paris. He joined the Evolutiv Brass quartet and the Symphonie de Poche to reveal the subtlety of the euphonium.

Contemporary music and creation play an important role in his career and in the development of the instrument's repertoire. From collaborations with the Ensemble Inter-Contemporain to commissioned works, it's only a short step that Anthony makes to approach composers and musicians from different musical worlds. He opens up new horizons for himself and other musicians.

With jazz and improvised music, Anthony also enjoys the spontaneity, surprise and interactivity of music, as in Smoking Mouse, as a duo, or Space, Time and Mirror, as a sextet.

All the projects that he collaborates in are part of this multi-faceted singularity developed for and with his instrument.

Yamaha artist, Anthony plays Romera Brass "Anthony Caillet" mouthpieces.
