David Bruchez-Lalli is a renowned Swiss trombonist who serves as the principal trombone of the Tonhalle Orchestra Zurich and teaches at the Zurich University of the Arts.

He began his professional career at age 15 with the Opéra de Lausanne and was the first brass musician to reach the final of the 1994 Eurovision Young Musicians competition in Warsaw. His accolades include laureateships at the Concours d’Exécution Musicale de Genève, the Tribune Internationale des Jeunes Musiciens (UNESCO) in Bratislava, and the Swiss youth music competition.

After earning a soloist’s diploma from the Conservatoire de Musique in Lausanne, he studied at the Herbert von Karajan Academy with the Berlin Philharmonic, establishing early connections with conductor Claudio Abbado. He has performed as a soloist with major orchestras including the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, Kammerakademie Potsdam, and the Slovak Radio Symphony Orchestra. Additionally, he leads the Aura Consort, an ensemble specializing in Renaissance music performed on original instruments.
