Daniel Veloso

Born in Bombarral in 2002, Daniel Veloso began his musical studies at the Círculo de Cultura Musical Bombarralense, later enrolling at the Caldas da Rainha Conservatory, where he studied with Élio Leal, Andreia Marques, and José Cedoura.

He is currently studying at the Lisbon School of Music (ESML), in the class of Stephen Mason and David Burt.

He has attended masterclasses with internationally renowned trumpeters such as Michael Sachs, Omar Tomasoni, Miro Petkov, Andre Schoch, Immanuel Richter, Huw Morgan, Calen Hudson, and Fábio Brum, among others.

He is a Rotary Club scholarship holder.

Inês Costa

Originally from Arganil, Inês Costa began her musical studies at the Associação Filarmónica de Arganil at the age of 8. At 9, she enrolled at the Coimbra Music Conservatory, where she completed the 8th grade in Trumpet, studying with Jaime Barbosa and performing in the trumpet ensemble directed by Daniel Tapadinhas.

At 18, she entered the Lisbon School of Music (ESML), where she completed her Bachelor’s degree in Trumpet Performance in 2021, studying with David Burt and Stephen Mason. She is currently completing the second year of her Master’s degree in Music Education at the same institution.

In 2023, she was selected for the Mediterranean Youth Orchestra internship in Aix-en-Provence. That same year, she performed in France with the London Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Mark Helder, and joined the Lisbon Film Orchestra.

Throughout her training, she has attended masterclasses with Adam Rappa, Gileno Santana, Fred Sauter, John Wallace, John Miller, Pacho Flores, Rubén Simeó, Guido Segers, Gabor Tarkövi, Adrián Martínez, Carlos Leite, Simon Höfele, Paul Merkelo, Miro Petkov, Omar Tomasoni, James Fountain, and Michael Sachs.

In 2023, she taught trumpet at the Santarém Music Conservatory.

Óscar Ramos

Born in Funchal on December 9, 2002, Óscar Ramos began studying trombone in 2017 with Luís Rodrigues, enrolling that same year in the professional instrumentalist course at the Conservatory – Professional School of Arts of Madeira.

In 2020, after completing the course, he began his Bachelor’s degree in Music (Trombone) at the Lisbon School of Music (ESML), in the class of Ricardo Pereira.

During his studies, he worked with renowned teachers and soloists such as Joseph Alessi, Peter Steiner, Fabrice Millischer, João Martinho, Nuno Martins, Gabriel Antão, Marshall Gilkes, Severo Martinez, Mark Hampson, Vicente Climent, Vincenzo Paratore, Zeferino Pinto, and Hugo Assunção.

He has collaborated with the Madeira Classical Orchestra, working with conductors including Martin André, Christopher Bochmann, Evan-Alexis Christ, Pedro Neves, José Eduardo Gomes, Tibor Bogányi, and Stefan Dohr.

Miguel Cardoso

Miguel Cardoso, born in 2002, began his musical studies at the age of 13 at the Banda Musical de Rebordondo under the direction of Pedro Alves. He later enrolled in the professional instrumentalist course at the Academia de Artes de Chaves with Mauro Simões and, in 2020, began his Bachelor’s degree in Performance at the Lisbon School of Music (ESML), studying with Adélio Carneiro.

He has participated in masterclasses with renowned musicians, including Sérgio Carolino and Gene Pokorny.

He has performed as a tuba player in several youth and academic orchestras and has won solo prizes in international competitions. He is currently studying at ESML, is a member of the LXTuba Ensemble, and founded the Gravis Tuba Quartet and the Five Ways Brass Quintet. Since 2022, he has been a member of the Portuguese Navy Band.
