Henrique Dias

Henrique Dias is a young musician born in 2005. He began his musical studies at the AMCC at the age of 10, in the Euphonium class with teacher Jorge Fernandes. At the age of 14, he swapped the euphonium for the tuba and has dedicated himself to studying this instrument to this day.

During his musical career, Henrique has taken part in various masterclasses with renowned artists. He has won several prizes and received honours in important competitions, such as the Terras de la Salette Competition, the AETYB Online Competition and the APTE Competition. He also performed a solo concert at the Casa da Música in 2022. Henrique has taken part in several BSP Junior Festival Orchestra Internships, a programme with the Young Portuguese Orchestra, participated in the Ensemble de Metais de Leiria and several times in the Gravíssimo!. In Zurich, he was part of the Zurich Youth Orchestra on a tour of Spain and in the Spring Project at the Tonhalle. He has also been invited to take part in some programmes with the Casa da Música Symphony Orchestra. Henrique is a co-founding member, together with his sister, of the duo DDuo, Tuba and Saxophone, and is a member of the Banda Musical Leverense. He won 1st place in the Prémio Jovens Músicos competition. He is currently in his second year of a degree programme at the Zurich University of the Arts.
