Versatile and open-minded guitarist, Hugo Trindade works mainly in the field of jazz and improvised music, while always keeping an eye on the rest of the musical universe, in search of new frontiers and sonorities.

He holds a degree in Music – Jazz branch, and studied guitar with Mário Delgado, André Fernandes, and Pedro Madaleno. He spent a brief period in New York in 2008, where he took private lessons and masterclasses with guitarists John Scofield, Marc Ribot, and Jonathan Kreisberg.

He won the "Cool Jazz Talents 2012" competition, promoted by EDP and Cool Jazz Fest, with his quintet.

He is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Jazz Performance at the University of Évora, where he is researching "The incorporation of the rock guitar idiom into jazz guitar."

Subjects he teaches at AMA: Electric & Acoustic Guitar, Combo & Ensemble, Theory & Harmony, and Rockschool Courses Coordination.
