A native of Arganil, Inês Luzio began her musical studies at the age of nine in her hometown’s philharmonic band. She attended the Coimbra Conservatory of Music and the University of Aveiro, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Music—Performance. In 2016, she began her Master’s degree in Music—Artistic Performance at ESMAE, studying under tuba player Sérgio Carolino, and since September of last year, she has been studying as an exchange student in Lucerne, Switzerland, with euphonium player Thomas Rüedi. She has worked with leading international euphonium artists, including Thomas Rüedi, Demondrae Thurman, Jukka Myllys, and Anthony Caillet, among others. She has collaborated with the WASBE Youth Wind Orchestra and the Portuguese Symphonic Band. She has performed as a soloist with the Orquestra Clássica do Centro. He is a member of AntiTrio (saxophone, euphonium, and piano) and “Ruby the Grap!” (euphonium and accordion); he is part of d’Orfeu’s production “Tia Graça. Everyone should have one.” He is dedicated to the world of new music and explores the possibilities of working with words and language as music.
