Ivan Vicente
Trombone
Participated in the 2021 edition as a “Young Talent”
Born in Valença, Ivan Vicente began learning to play the trombone at the age of 11 at the Academia de Música Fernandes Fão, where his teachers were Sérgio Gaspar, Filipe Vieira and Lisete Correia. Two years later he joined the Banda Lanhelense.
He was awarded the 2nd Prize in the 5th Concurso Internacional de Sopros do Alto Minho (2017), and the 1st Prize in the 7th edition of the same competition (2019).
He had masterclasses with the teachers/trombonists Zeferino Pinto, Ricardo Pereira, Gabriel Antão, Rúben da Luz, Hakan Bjorkman, Csaba Wagner, Bart Claessens, Ben van Dijk, Mark Hampson, among others.
Ivan Vicente has worked with the conductors Alex Schillings, Luís Carvalho, Jan Wierzba, Douglas Bostock, José Eduardo Gomes, Guntis Kuzma, among others.
He is currently studying at the Escola Superior de Música e Artes do Espetáculo with
Severo Martinez.
