Joana Filipe Seara, from Apúlia, began her musical studies in 2017 in the trumpet class of Professor António Silva in Esposende. In 2022, she joined the tuba class of Professor Romeu Silva at ARTEAM, and she is currently continuing her studies at the Hochschule für Musik Carl Maria von Weber in Dresden (Germany), in the class of Professor Jörg Wachsmuth.

She has attended numerous masterclasses with renowned professors, including Hans Nickel, Sérgio Carolino, Gil Gonçalves, Ricardo Carvalhoso, José Martinez, François Thullier, Shmuel Hersko, Oren Marshall, Cristina Cutts, Warren Deck, Chris Olka and Filipe Queirós.

In the orchestral field, she has participated in various projects under the direction of conductors such as Franco Cesarini, David Fiuza, Martim Sousa Tavares and Luciano Pereira, etc. She regularly performs as a substitute tuba player with the Dresdner Philharmonie, where she has already performed under the direction of Vasily Petrenko, Eun Sun Kim, Aurel Dawidiuk, Vitali Alekseenok, Sir James MacMillan, Emmanuel Tjeknavorian and Marc Albrecht. She also played with the Banda Sinfónica Portuguesa and the Orquestra Filarmónica de Braga.

In 2025, she took part in the Prémio Jovens Músicos, promoted by RTP and Antena 2, with the brass quintet Mezzo Brass Quintet, where they were awarded an Honorable Mention.
