Luka Einfalt is the professor of euphonium at the Ljubljana Conservatory of Music and Ballet and has won national and international competitions in Serbia and Slovenia. He has recorded Prelude and Caprice by Tomaž Habe with the RTV Slovenia Symphonic Orchestra and recently released a solo euphonium CD of works he commissioned titled, “Slovenian Music for Euphonium,” by the composers D. Beovič, N. Firšt, Č. Sojar Voglar, J. Pucihar, and P. Mihelčič. Luka started on the trumpet at age 8 and switched to the trombone in high school. He graduated from the Academy of Music in Ljubljana under the tutelage of Professor Domen Jeraša and completed his graduate degree under the tutelage of Prof. Darko Rošker. He completed post-graduate studies at The Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts in Switzerland under the tutelage of Prof. Thomas Rüedi. As a soloist, Luka has performed with the Slovenian Army Orchestra, Music Academy Wind Orchestra in Ljubljana, the Domžale-Kamnik Symphony Orchestra, and the Obalni Chamber Orchestra. He has performed as a guest substitute/additional player with a number of renowned orchestras including the RTV Slovenia Symphony Orchestra, the Slovene Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra. He has appeared as a soloist at national festivals including Jesenske Serenade, Koncertni Atelje Društva, Slovenskih Skladateljev, and the World Music Days 2015. Luka was the principal trombone of the Orchestra of Slovenian Police Force before joining the faculty of the Ljubljana Conservatory.
