Marco Rodrigues was born in 1998, in V. N. de Famalicão. He began his musical studies in 2010, at ARTAVE, in David Silva's trombone class.

He attended advanced courses with trombonists such as György Gyivicsan, Rui Pedro Alves, David Bruchez, Andreas Klein, Filipe Alves, Jarret Butler, Hugo Assunção, Stefan Schulz and Jamie Williams.

He took part in orchestral training programs with conductors Luís Carvalho, André Granjo, Luís Campos, Peter Askim, Fernando Marinho, Emílio de César, Otavio Mas-Arocas, Rafa Albors, Bernard Haitink, Luís Machado, David Bruchez, Cesário Costa, Vítor Matos and Ernst Schelle.

Throughout his schooling he played in the Artavinhos, ARTAVE Wind Orchestra, ARTAVE Orchestra, Aproarte Training Orchestra (2014 and 2015) and PJM Orchestra. Professionally, he has also worked with the Stringendo Orchestra (Zurich) and the Guimarães Orchestra. In chamber music he has worked with Paulo Silva, David Bruchez and Anne Jelle Visser.

In 2012 he won 3rd Prize in the youth category of the Terras de La Salette International Competition, later winning, in 2015, 1st Prize in the junior category. That same year he was awarded a Yamaha Foundation scholarship. In 2016 he won 1st Prize at the 1st International Trombone Competition in Castelo de Paiva, in his category, and subsequently won 1st Prize in the Larry Wiehe category (under 23) at the International Trombone Association competition at the Juilliard School, in New York. In 2016 he won the Senior Trombone category at the Jovens Músicos Prize, having the opportunity to perform Frank Martin's Ballade with the Gulbenkian Orchestra under conductor Osvaldo Ferreira.

In October he took part in a solo tour with the Zurich Youth Orchestra in Portugal, where he had the chance to perform in the country's most renowned concert halls, under conductors Luís Machado and David Bruchez. In November 2016 he won the audition for welcheposaune (2nd and 3rd trombone) with the Tonhalle Orchestra Zurich, where he will start working in February 2017. He is currently in his first semester of the Bachelor's program at ZHdK (Zurich University of the Arts), in David Bruchez's class.
