Maria Derevyagina was born in Saint Petersburg into a family of musicians. She graduated from the Secondary Special Music School (SSMSH) of the Saint Petersburg State Conservatory under Professor Zora Zucker. She then continued her studies at the Rimsky-Korsakov Saint Petersburg State Conservatory with Professor Alexander Sandler and later completed postgraduate studies with Professor Leonid Zaichik.

She is a laureate of several international competitions, including “Anton Rubinstein” in Dresden, “Maria Yudina” in Saint Petersburg, and “The Path to Mastery” in Moscow, among many others.

She performs both as a soloist and in various ensemble settings in cities across Russia and abroad, having participated in festivals such as the “Bad Kissinger Sommer Festival” in Germany.

Currently, Maria successfully combines her teaching practice at the SSMSH of the Saint Petersburg State Conservatory with an active performing career.
