Miguel Barros was born on August 12, 1998, in Viana do Castelo. At the age of 10, he enrolled at the Viana do Castelo Music Academy in the class of Professor Nélson Silva and, later, in the class of Professor Ricardo Pereira. In his 10th grade, he entered the Viana do Castelo Professional School of Music, under the guidance of Professor Gonçalo Dias. He is currently continuing his studies at ESMAE—the Higher School of Music, Arts, and Performing Arts in Porto. Among his individual awards are second place in the “Terras de la Salette” International Competition in the Junior category, second place in the Alto Minho Wind Instrument Competition in the Senior category, and first place in the Castelo de Paiva Trombone Competition in the Bass Trombone category.
