Ricardo Mollá studied composition and trombone at the Oscar Esplá Conservatory of Music in Alicante (Spain) under Joan Enric Canet (composition) and Javier Garcia (trombone), and at the Hochschule für Musik, Theater und Medien Hannover (Germany) under Jonas Blyund (trombone). He was awarded a scholarship from the Spanish Artists’ Society (AIE) and the JONDE-BBVA Foundation to study at the prestigious Juilliard School in New York, where he earned a Master’s degree in Classical Music. At Juilliard, he had the opportunity to study Music Production under Greg Kalember and Music Technology under Mari Kimura. He made his solo debut at Carnegie Hall (Weill Recital) after winning first prize at the New York Artist International Competition. Throughout his career, Ricardo has received awards in more than twenty national and international competitions, has performed as a soloist at various events around the world, and has collaborated with many international orchestras. As an educator, he has been invited to teach courses, give masterclasses, and deliver lectures in Europe, the Americas, and Asia. As a composer, he has written works for various musical ensembles, including solo pieces with or without piano accompaniment, chamber music (string quartets, brass quintet, trombone quartet, trombone choir, brass ensemble, trombone-trumpet-piano trio), choirs, wind ensembles, and symphony orchestras. Some of his works have already been performed by leading international orchestras.
