Smoking Mouse - Ensemble

Smoking Mouse

Ensamble

Participated in the 2021 edition

Anthony Caillet › Euphonium | Christophe Girard › Accordion

Smoking Mouse is a journey, a musical experience that conjures up images and forms that seem to take shape, fade away, and transform. It evokes the song of the earth, offering a glimpse into the simplicity and complexity of the world.

The Smoking Mouse duo is one of the emerging acts on the French jazz scene. Anthony Caillet (euphonium and flugabone) and Christophe Girard (accordion) founded the group in 2011 and have performed at numerous venues and festivals in France and across Europe (D'Jazz Nevers, Ystad Sweden Jazz Festival, Saveurs Jazz Festival, Biennale de Jazz du Centre des Bords de Marne, Surgères Brass Festival...)

This unconventional ensemble surprises us with its agility, its almost orchestral sound development, and its timbre. Composition and improvisation blend together until they are indistinguishable, serving a story, a sensation.

Following their debut album “Nebula,” released on “Klarthe” (distributed by Harmonia Mundi), Smoking Mouse presents “Terracotta,” their new album to be released on “Babil.”
